Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) will host MEETINGS in Wellington for the first time at the capital’s next generation venue, the Tākina Wellington Conference and Exhibition Centre.
BEIA Managing Director Lisa Hopkins said the opening of Tākina in June 2023 is the perfect time for another spectacular showcase of New Zealand business events in a new destination. MEETINGS 2022 in Christchurch last month set a record with over 210 stands and 400 buyers, including 110 from Australia.
“Following a hugely successful MEETINGS 2022, held at Te Pae Christchurch, our attention is now focused on the launch of the second of New Zealand’s brand new convention centres, Tākina,” she says.
“We look forward to bringing New Zealand, Australian and international business event professionals to Wellington for MEETINGS 2023 on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 June. They will meet New Zealand’s best products, services, solutions, business event venues and, most importantly, people on a dynamic showroom.
Wellington City Council – Tākina, Business Development Chief Executive David Perks says Wellington is delighted to finally have the opportunity to host MEETINGS and showcase their new venue.
“We know buyers and sellers will enjoy their stay in Wellington and the opportunity to do business here.
“Wellington’s investment in Tākina reflects the city’s commitment to being both a tourist destination and, as New Zealand’s capital, a place for important conversations.
“MEETINGS in Wellington will be the perfect opportunity to see the city in action,” says Perks.
With a stunning design and located in the cultural district of Wellington CBD, Tākina is within walking distance of major transport links, entertainment and leisure options and thousands of accommodation options.
