New Delhi [India]May 27 (ANI/Fourth Estate): A leader in making India self-sufficient in defense MRO and manufacturing, Crown Group Defense, one of the largest independent defense MROs in India and a strategic partner of Indian Defense Force invites international companies to partner up and leverage its facilities and capabilities to set up an MRO and manufacturing base in the country following the “Make in India” strategy.
“We are open to partnerships with global OEMs through a range of cooperation models such as joint ventures, joint manufacturing, technology licensing, contract manufacturing and know-how transfer agreements, etc. “said Vice Admiral Paras Nath (Retired) AVSM, VSM, Group Chairman, Crown Group Defence.
“The scope of work includes maintenance, modernization, repair, service, design, development, manufacturing and technology partnerships with global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) supplying defense equipment to Indian Defense Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) who are looking for an opportunity to establish or expand their supply chains or MRO/manufacturing base in India to help make India “AatmaNirbhar in MRO and defense manufacturing,” said Vice Admiral Paras Nath.
The Group Chairman also said: “Our world-class facilities and capabilities along with strong ongoing partnerships with some of the leading international defense equipment suppliers for the MRO of Indian naval and aviation assets have placed Crown Group Defense in a position of strength to support any foreign company, establishing their manufacturing/MRO base in India and advancing the vision of Make in India.”
“This greatly increases the scope and scale of maintenance, repair and overhaul undertaken in the country and demonstrates the commitment of both companies to help make India’s Aatmanirbhar in Defense and Aerospace” , he added.
With the publication of three lists of defense articles to be prohibited from importation (positive indigenization list) the government’s objectives of self-reliance in the defense sector and promotion of exports of military equipment, the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has made it clear that India’s independence depending on the defense sector does not mean working in isolation from the rest of the world.
This means working in our own country with their active participation and support (of foreign companies). This has opened up a huge opportunity for international OEMs to come and set up their base in India.
Crown Group Defense provides marine engineering, aerospace engineering, military engineering and weapons systems support to the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Land and Air Forces with a pan-India presence in 12 cities with MRO facilities in Karwar, Mumbai, Goa, Visakhapatnam and Chennai and satellite offices in Cochin, Port Blair, Kolkata, Andaman & Nicobar and corporate offices in Delhi contribute to India’s ever growing needs in defense and aerospace.
“Global OEMs who are looking for organized players to help them service and maintain their equipment and provide quality service to their customers in India find it easy to partner with Crown Group because of their class-leading MRO facilities and workshops. spread across India and their experience of working with international OEMs. For international OEMs, it is much more cost effective to partner with local players who already have facilities and understand the local business environment” , said Vikas Banga, group strategy director.

Banga added, “We are extremely quality conscious, deliver on time and have received high praise from international customers and OEMs.
The group has three verticals to serve the operational readiness needs of the Indian defense sector through its group companies, which are:
1. ‘Dynatron Services Private Limited’ (DSPL) and ‘OSK India Private Limited’ (OIPL) for marine engineering
2. “Aviatech Enterprises Private Limited” (AEPL) and “Zealtek Enterprises Private Limited” (ZEPL) for aerospace and avionics
3. “C1 India Private Limited” for cybersecurity and online product support.
‘Dynatron Services Private Limited’ (DSPL) and ‘OSK India Private Limited’ (OIPL) are one of the only organized and fully equipped actors present in all coastal cities serving MRO and maintenance of Indian Navy vessels, aircraft carriers, warships and naval base submarines with their fully functional state-of-the-art facilities in Karwar, Mumbai, Goa and Chennai.
“The maintenance of defense equipment supplied by foreign OEMs is a costly and time consuming affair for the Indian defense sector as these mainly have to be sent overseas for repairs. Through such partnerships with OEMs our goal is to bring the latest MRO & manufacturing technologies to India, reduce lead times and provide timely product support at economical prices to the Indian Defense Forces to help them stay combat ready,” said Cmde Rakesh Anand (retired), Head of Marine Division, Crown Group Defense
“Crown Group Defence, in its commitment to promoting defense R&D, has partnered with Amrita University to develop indigenous defense technologies under the Make in India program and is in preliminary talks for collaboration with IIT and other reputable universities for various defense projects in the coming days with the aim of meeting the burgeoning skills needs of India’s growing defense sector,” added Cmde Rakesh Anand.
Appreciation for its outstanding MRO services and on-time delivery of critical projects has helped the group secure numerous MRO contracts from Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Land and Air Force.
Crown Group Defense, the strategic partner of the Indian Defense Forces supporting the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative, will showcase its locally developed technological innovations in manufacturing, maintenance, modernization, repair and overhaul for defense and civilian at the INMEX SMM India Expo from June 1 to June 3, 2022, at the Jio World Convention Center, BKC, Mumbai.
