The 64th annual ceremony was postponed from Jan. 31, amid the latest surge in COVID-19 cases, marking the first time in decades that the show was held in late spring, USA Today reported.

The move also marks the first time the telecast has been held outside of Los Angles or New York since 1973, when it was held in Nashville, Billboard reported.

The 2021 Grammy Awards have been pushed back from January 31 to March 14, the entertainment outlet reported.

Scheduling conflicts prompted the move to Nevada, according to USA Today, as the ceremony’s typical home, Arena, formerly Staples Center, is full of sporting events and concerts through the end of April.

Meanwhile, the MGM Grand Garden Arena is a Recording Academy familiar, having hosted the Latin Grammys every year since 2009 except for a detour to Miami in 2020, USA Today reported.

Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” will reprise his role as host of the awards show this year.

The show airs at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
